The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) aims to ensure the U.S. food supply is safe by shifting the focus of federal regulators from responding to contamination to preventing it.
In February of 2014, the Food and Drug Administration proposed requirements (in the Federal Register) for shippers, truckers, rail freight providers and receivers for food transport.
